The Bright Star Award is
presented each year for outstanding achievement by a teacher.
|

In Order to achieve a
Bright Star Award, the candidate is evaluated under the following
guidelines:
- CHILDREN - How do
they interact with the children, and their awareness of all the
children in their care.
- ENVIRONMENT -
Determination of how well they maintain the decorum of the area.
- CLASSROOM -
Organization skills and space management. Continually updates the
area to coincide with the current curriculum.
- HEALTH and SAFETY -
Constant awareness of any health and safety issues and their
communication to the management on a timely basis. Awareness of the
policy regarding the picking up of the children by only approved
persons.
- PROGRAM
ADMINISTRATION - Evaluation of the individuals ability to meet
Deadlines, being Flexible concerning the ever changing environment,
Personal Attendance, and Punctuality with regard to the Center.
- COMMUNICATION - The
individuals ability to communicate with the children on their level,
and to actively communicate with their Co-workers. Above all, communicate
with the Parents and keeping them well informed of their child's
progress.
- LEADERSHIP - The
ability to take the initiative, be flexible with new ideas, and
demonstrate an ability to solve problems and pursue them till a
successful conclusion.
- COMMITMENT TO
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - A willingness to pursue continuing
education through the attendance in workshops and use of training
aides, such as, videos.
- FLEXIBILITY -
Demonstrates a willingness to take difficult and changing
assignments, and show a willingness to adjust to the changing needs
of the Center.
- IMPLEMENTATION OF
PROGRAM GOALS (as stated in the Employee Handbook) -
Willingness to follow the program goals which relate to the
emotional, physical, and social development of the children.
- CURRICULUM - Proper
use and maximization of the classroom materials and demonstrates the
ability to supplement them into the curriculum.
