At Bright Beginnings, our families play an active role in the education of their children. Our classrooms have family communication boards to showcase lesson plans and to document children’s progress.
We support parents as primary educators, nurturers and advocates for their children. Our program is open to parents during all program hours.
Family Learning Activities at School
Research shows that when parents are involved in their children’s education, children are more likely to be successful in early childhood and school programs. Therefore, our program supports and encourages families to observe children as often as possible and to participate with children in group activities. Through the following supportive activities, we foster partnerships with our families: regular Class Newsletter, Getting to Know You Night, Take Home Bags, Family Literacy Evenings, Learning Breakfast, Parent Workshops, Family Book Swap, Cultural Night, and Parent Resource Center.
We believe that when parents and other family members take an interest in what children are learning, provide opportunities to do learning activities at home, and offer encouragement to a child’s learning efforts, the impact can be significant.
